Jing Chuan Rice Award: Taitung's Fine Rice Wins 3 Gold Quality Awards and 1 Online Popularity Award

The Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station of the Ministry of Agriculture today issued a press release stating that the list of winners for the "2026 Jing Chuan Rice Award," hailed as the highest honor in Taiwan's packaged rice industry, was announced on the 8th. Taitung-based manufacturers once again stood out in fierce competition due to their outstanding high quality and production-marketing management. The Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station stated that the competition was divided into "Aromatic Rice Group" and "Non-Aromatic Rice Group" for various data indicators and sensory evaluations. In the Aromatic Rice Group competition, the highest honor, the Gold Quality Award, was taken by "Xiang Zhuan Rice" from Chishang Duolimi Co., Ltd. and "Dadi Organic Aromatic Rice" from Jianxing Rice Mill. The Silver Quality Award was favored by the judges for "Gong Hao Liang Cang Top 147" from Danmi Biotech International Co., Ltd. In the Non-Aromatic Rice Group, Taitung rice still performed brilliantly, with the Gold Quality Award winner being "Zheng Zong Chi Nong Rice" from Chishang Township Farmers' Association. In addition, the online best popularity award was won by "Le Mi Gu Chang - Taitung Chishang New Moon Yan Ji" from Fusheng Nongjing Technology Co., Ltd., fully demonstrating Taitung's profound expertise in improving the eating quality of rice. The Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station stated that the core of the "Jing Chuan Rice Award" evaluation is to promote high-end packaged rice that possesses "variety, quality, brand" and "safety, security." The entry threshold for the 2026 competition continued to maintain high standards; registered products must obtain production and sales traceability, organic certification, organic transition period certification, Taiwan Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) rice items, or be registered by an environmentally friendly farming group recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture to be eligible for competition. To ensure fairness in the evaluation, the Agriculture and Food Agency adopted random sampling from distribution channels to prevent manufacturers from providing specific samples for competition. After sampling, all rice samples were uniformly repackaged and re-randomly coded under the supervision of an impartial third party, and then rigorously evaluated through safety testing, purity identification, physical analysis, and sensory evaluation. The Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station stated that this year's competition attracted a total of 66 top rice products from across the country for evaluation.
