(Central News Agency reporter Huang Chiao-wen, Taipei, May 9th) To balance professional image with wearing comfort, Starlux Airlines announced today that starting in April, it has added a short-sleeved shirt option for male cabin crew. Additionally, if cabin crew experience eye discomfort and cannot wear contact lenses, they are now permitted to wear glasses while on duty.
Originally, among national airlines, only Tigerair Taiwan's female flight attendant uniform included pants. In recent years, airlines including China Airlines, Starlux Airlines, and EVA Air have successively introduced pants uniforms for female flight attendants, allowing them to choose between pants or skirts.
Regarding uniform regulations, Starlux Airlines explained through a message that it has already opened up options for cabin crew to wear flat shoes, and female cabin crew can choose to wear pants while on duty. Starting from April this year, a short-sleeved shirt option has been added for male cabin crew, allowing cabin crew to achieve a better balance between professional image and comfort according to their individual needs.
China Airlines, Tigerair Taiwan, and EVA Air had previously allowed flight attendants to wear glasses while on duty. Starlux Airlines stated that to provide more comprehensive care for cabin crew during service, if cabin crew experience eye discomfort and cannot wear contact lenses, they are permitted to wear glasses while on duty.
Starlux Airlines pointed out that these adjustments to uniform and appearance regulations are an important step in the company's continuous optimization of the working environment, and it will continue to evaluate providing an even more complete and considerate working environment in the future.
