(Central News Agency, Washington, May 9th, comprehensive foreign reports) According to airport authorities and media reports, an incident occurred late yesterday at Denver International Airport in Colorado, USA, where a flight collided with a 'pedestrian' on the runway during takeoff, causing an emergency stop and injuring at least one passenger on board.

The Associated Press reported that neither the airport nor the airline disclosed the condition of the 'pedestrian.'

Agence France-Presse reported that Denver International Airport stated in a statement that Frontier Airlines Flight 4345 reported 'hitting a pedestrian during takeoff' around 11:19 PM.

According to ABC News, citing unnamed officials, the person hit was 'at least partially ingested into one of the engines.' It is currently unknown whether the engine was damaged and the condition of the 'pedestrian' after the incident.

The airport stated that 'the engine briefly caught fire' at the time, and the Denver Fire Department quickly extinguished it.

According to air traffic control recordings, the pilot told air traffic controllers: 'We are stopped on the runway, we just hit a person, one engine is on fire... there is a person crossing the runway.'

The airport stated on its social media platform X that emergency responders arrived at the scene and shuttled passengers back to the terminal. ABC reported that at least one passenger sustained minor injuries.

Frontier Airlines told Agence France-Presse that the Airbus A321 was originally scheduled to fly to Los Angeles International Airport.

Frontier Airlines stated in a statement: 'There was smoke in the cabin, and the pilot aborted the takeoff. Passengers were then safely evacuated via slides as a precaution.'

The airline stated that there were 224 passengers and 7 crew members on board at the time.

The airport noted that the National Transportation Safety Board has been notified; Denver International Airport's Runway 17L will remain closed during the investigation. (Compiler: He Hong-ru) 1150509
