(Central News Agency Reporter Lu Kang-chun, Hsinchu County, May 9) To improve the accommodation quality for teachers in remote junior high and elementary schools, the Hsinchu County Government launched the "Teacher (Student) Dormitory Evolution Plan." The plan received approval and funding from the Ministry of Education's K-12 Education Administration, improving 25 dormitories at 17 remote junior high and elementary schools to enhance the accommodation environment.

The Hsinchu County Government today issued a press release stating that the plan received approximately NT$25.2 million in central government subsidies and the county government's self-funded contribution of approximately NT$16.8 million. These funds will prioritize improving and upgrading the equipment and functions of dormitories for teachers and students in remote schools, effectively enhancing the living quality of teachers in remote areas.

The Hsinchu County Education Bureau pointed out that the "Teacher (Student) Dormitory Evolution Plan" assists in creating comfortable and high-quality dormitory environments for schools. In 2025, in conjunction with the K-12 Education Administration's plan to improve dormitories for teachers and students in remote and non-mountain/non-city junior high and elementary schools, it provided subsidies to Shilei Elementary School for waterproofing repairs and pipeline replacement, improving severe water leakage and wall cancer conditions.

In 2026, with the support of the K-12 Education Administration, the Education Bureau stated that it will continue to expand improvements to address issues such as insufficient dormitory equipment, long-term pipeline blockages, poor ventilation and lighting, and humidity in mountainous areas, aiming to improve the accommodation quality and living environment for teachers and students and maintain their health.

The Education Bureau stated that the "Teacher (Student) Dormitory Evolution Plan" provides subsidies to a total of 17 schools and 25 dormitories for teachers and students in remote junior high and elementary schools, including Jinghua Junior High School, Emei Junior High School, Wufeng Junior High School, Shikung Junior High School, Jianshi Junior High School, Jinshan Elementary School, Xincheng Elementary School, Xinguang Elementary School, Xinle Elementary School, Jinping Elementary School, Meihua Elementary School, Yufeng Elementary School, Xiuluan Elementary School, Xiuluan Elementary School Tianpu Branch, Wufeng Elementary School, Huayuan Elementary School, and Huayuan Elementary School Zhulin Branch.
