After court deliberation, the detention and prohibition of visitation for the two were approved.
The New Taipei District Court stated that after questioning the defendants Chen and Tang and reviewing the relevant evidence presented by the prosecutor, it believed that the two defendants were jointly involved in serious crimes including unauthorized filming of sexual images (Article 319-1, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code), unauthorized secret filming of private body parts of others (Article 315-1, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code), violations of Article 41 and Article 19, Paragraph 1 of the Personal Data Protection Act, and attempted filming of child sexual images (Article 36, Paragraph 5 and Paragraph 1 of the Act for the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents).
The court said that the two also have concerns about destroying evidence, colluding with accomplices, and colluding with witnesses, and there are facts sufficient to believe that there is a risk of absconding. Therefore, it recognized the reasons for detention under Article 101, Paragraph 1, Subparagraphs 1 and 2 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, and deemed detention and prohibition of visitation necessary.
