Aierli Offers Full Refunds, Tainan City Government Urges Deletion of Unfair Clauses in Applications

The Tainan City Government has also inspected the refund process at its three branches across the city and is urging consumers to delete unfair clauses, such as 'waiver of civil and criminal prosecution rights' and 'gag orders,' when filling out application forms.

The Tainan City Government's Legal Affairs Department today informed the Central News Agency that it has demanded that Aierli Medical Aesthetics Group's three branches in Tainan City strictly adhere to their commitment of 'full refunds, no deduction for gifts, and no handling fees,' and that they must not obstruct consumer refunds with reasons such as expired contracts, a two-year limit, or forced course changes or transfers.

However, consumer protection officials discovered that the refund application forms contained clauses such as 'waiver of civil and criminal prosecution rights' and 'gag orders,' and immediately demanded that the company remove them. Consumers were also reminded that if they encounter similar situations, they should demand deletion before signing.

The Legal Affairs Department pointed out that the city government has currently accepted 35 related consumer dispute complaints, and it is expected that the number of complaints will continue to increase; the main reasons for the complaints are consumers' strong demands for contract termination and refunds due to the company's failure to fulfill its privacy protection obligations, and compensation for illegal infringement of privacy.

The Legal Affairs Department stated that as of yesterday morning, Aierli's three branches in Tainan City had accepted a total of 114 refund applications, and the company has pledged to complete the refunds as soon as possible in accordance with company regulations. Consumers encountering unreasonable agreement clauses when processing refunds should react immediately. If they encounter difficulties, they can call the national consumer service hotline '1950' or file a consumer complaint with the Legal Affairs Department for assistance.
