(Central News Agency reporter Chang Chien-chung, Hsinchu, 8th) Wafer foundry TSMC announced its self-assessed April revenue of NT$410.726 billion. Although it declined from the high point in March, it increased by 17.5% compared to the same period last year, reaching the second-highest monthly revenue in history and a new high for the same period.

TSMC's April revenue was NT$410.726 billion, a month-on-month decrease of 1.1% and a year-on-year increase of 17.5%; cumulative revenue for the first four months was NT$1.5448 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 29.9%.

TSMC expects strong demand for leading process technologies to continue in the second quarter, pushing quarterly revenue to between US$39 billion and US$40.2 billion, a quarter-on-quarter increase of 10% and a year-on-year increase of 32%.

Assuming an average exchange rate of approximately NT$31.7 to US$1 in the second quarter, TSMC estimates that its average monthly revenue for May and June will remain above NT$410 billion.

Benefiting from strong demand related to artificial intelligence and a significant increase in computing demand, which supports robust demand for leading-edge process chips, TSMC expects its dollar-denominated revenue to grow by over 30% in 2026. (Editor: Lin Shu-yuan) 1150508
