TRA explained through a message that at 9:50 AM today, it received a report of a power line failure between Chaozhou and Nanzhou, and the line is currently temporarily impassable. The company has established a first-level emergency response team and a southern region response subgroup.
TRA stated that it has mobilized personnel and equipment from its power unit and cooperating contractors, including dispatching 2 power maintenance vehicles and about 30 personnel, to carry out full-scale repairs, which are expected to be completed by 7 PM tonight.
In response to this incident, TRA stated that southbound trains on the Pingtung Line and South-Link Line will operate to Chaozhou Station, northbound trains on the South-Link Line will operate to Fangliao Station, and northbound trains on the Pingtung Line will depart from Chaozhou Station; suspended trains include 727 (Chaozhou to Taitung), 708 (Taitung to Chaozhou), 5382 (Taitung to Chaozhou), 1 (Chaozhou to Taitung), and 2 (Taitung to Chaozhou).
TRA pointed out that highway shuttle services are being provided between Chaozhou and Fangliao, with 21 shuttle buses dispatched, operating 30 trips and transporting 1296 people, continuously providing two-way shuttle services; standing tickets for South-Link Line and Taitung Line express trains are also fully open today.
Regarding refund, exchange, and re-ride regulations, TRA explained that passengers whose scheduled trains are suspended or missed due to the power line equipment failure, or who are unable to board, may, within one year from the date of travel, present their unused tickets at any station ticket window to apply for a refund in accordance with typhoon warning refund regulations, without incurring a refund handling fee; for refunds through channels other than station ticket windows, the refund will be processed after deducting the handling fee according to the channel provider's regulations.
TRA noted that passengers who purchased tickets with a credit card can, within one year from the date of travel, present their original credit card and original ticket to any station to process a refund to their credit card account.
TRA stated that passengers who terminate their journey due to the accident may, within one year from the date of the incident, request a refund of the fare with their ticket, without incurring a refund handling fee; passengers holding a TRA periodic ticket for the interrupted section will have their validity period extended by one day as announced by the station.
