(Central News Agency reporter Wu Chia-hao, Taipei, 8th) Following a decline in the four major US stock indices, the Taiwan stock market pulled back for consolidation today, with the index opening down over 240 points, hitting a low of 41691.58 points. The electronics, semiconductor, and OTC indices all weakened, and capital flowed into traditional industry groups and other sectors.
The three major weighted stocks all fell. TSMC, which hit a new high of NT$2345 during yesterday's trading, pulled back today, falling to a low of NT$2295 in early trading, a drop of NT$15 or 0.65%.
