(Central News Agency reporter Tseng Jen-kai, Taipei, 8th) The AI craze continues to heat up, with the Taiwan stock market surging by 2677.31 points, or 6.88%, this week, and the main board index closing at 41603.94 points on Friday. According to statistics from the Taiwan Stock Exchange, the latest total market value of all listed companies reached NT$135,697.1 billion, an increase of approximately NT$8.74 trillion from the previous week.

In terms of industry indices, the electronic channel category index saw the largest increase this week, rising by 9.92%, while the oil, electricity, and gas category index experienced the largest decline, falling by 4.53%. Other indices, excluding financial stocks, rose by 2499.55 points, an increase of approximately 7.10%. Indices excluding electronic stocks rose by 450.93 points, an increase of approximately 2.23%. Indices excluding financial and electronic stocks rose by 151.46 points, an increase of approximately 1.07%.

This week, the total trading value of all listed stocks was NT$5,661.1 billion. The top three industries by trading value were semiconductors at NT$2,335.1 billion, accounting for 41.25% of the total trading value of all listed stocks; electronic components at NT$1,255.8 billion, accounting for 22.18%; and computers and peripheral equipment at NT$467.826 billion, accounting for 8.26%.

The stock turnover rate this week was 4.52%. The top three industries by stock turnover rate were glass and ceramics at 21.31%, optoelectronics at 19.43%, and electronic components at 13.74%.

As of the beginning of this year's trading, a total of 80 trading days, the total trading value in the centralized market was NT$69,695.5 billion, with an average daily trading value of NT$871.194 billion.
