(Central News Agency reporter Chiu Tsu-yin, Taipei, 8th) German choreographer Pina Bausch's work is being performed in Taiwan for the 8th time. Taiwanese dancers Yu Caiqin and Tian Caiwei are returning to perform "The Mossy Stone" with the Tanztheater Wuppertal, which opens today at the National Theater in Taipei.
According to a press release issued by the National Theater and Concert Hall, "The Mossy Stone" was Bausch's last creation before her death, inspired by the music, politics, and culture of Chile. During the creative process, she led 21 dancers to Chile for on-site observation and completed the final creation back at the company's base in Wuppertal, Germany.
This performance will be reinterpreted by current members of the Tanztheater Wuppertal, with Taiwanese dancers Yu Caiqin and Tian Caiwei becoming one of the important highlights of this performance. Yu Caiqin stated, "Pina Bausch's works have always been based on people, resonating with the life experiences of every audience member. This work also continues this creative spirit. If the audience is curious about what her last work looked like before her death, this will be an unmissable viewing experience."
