(Central News Agency reporter Huang Hsu-sheng, New Taipei, 8th) The "New Taipei Hakka Tucheng Hall" was unveiled and opened today at Leli Elementary School in Tucheng District. It combines elements of tung blossoms, indigo dyeing, and the six Hakka arts, setting up interactive teaching tools and Hakka language learning materials to create an immersive Hakka language and culture space, promoting the inheritance of urban Hakka culture.

The "New Taipei Hakka Tucheng Hall" was jointly established by the New Taipei City Hakka Affairs Department, the Education Department, and Leli Elementary School. New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yu-ih and City Hakka Affairs Department Director Liu Guan-yin jointly officiated the opening today.

The Hakka Affairs Department stated that the venue's design was inspired by Tucheng District's famous "May Snow" tung blossom landscape and the adjacent Chengtian Chan Temple mountain range. The colors revolve around the three main colors of "Hakka blue," "tung blossom white," and "brick red," showcasing the cultural imagery of indigo dyeing craftsmanship, natural mountains and forests, and traditional settlements, as well as Hakka aesthetic space.

The hall features "Hakka Six Arts Window Views" as a design highlight, integrating six types of Hakka living arts and cultural skills, including "Tea Art, Dance Art, Color Art, Literary Art, Culinary Art, Creative Art" courses into teaching, allowing younger generations to experience and inherit Hakka living aesthetics.

According to the Hakka Affairs Department, through interactive teaching tools and Hakka language learning materials, with situational experiences and interesting designs, the hall presents vivid cultural lessons and demonstrates continuous efforts to deepen urban Hakka culture.

Liu Guan-yin stated that the core meaning of the Hakka Hall is not just static display, but also to become a living space where people are willing to stay, interact, and speak Hakka, becoming an important base for urban Hakka culture.

Hou Yu-ih stated that New Taipei City has approximately 672,000 Hakka residents, and Hakka people account for over 20% in Tucheng District, possessing a deep Hakka cultural foundation; with the advantages of MRT transportation, it has become an important base for promoting Hakka culture.

In addition to the Tucheng Hall opened today, the city government explained that it expects to complete the 11th "Yingge Hall" by the end of this year and plans to establish the "Taishan Hall" in 2027, allowing language learning and community interaction to naturally integrate into daily life.
