(Central News Agency reporter Pan Hsin-tung, Lienchiang County, 8th) The Lienchiang County Government's Transportation and Tourism Bureau announced today that to increase transportation capacity during the peak tourist season, it has coordinated with shipping companies and travel agencies. The 'Nanhai Star No. 2' will operate a total of 5 flights between Nangan Fuao Port and Taipei Port in June, with tickets available for purchase starting tomorrow on the Matsu Sea Transportation Booking and Ticketing System.

The Lienchiang County Government Transportation and Tourism Bureau's press release stated that every year during the spring-summer transition, Matsu welcomes the peak season for 'Blue Tears' tourism, but also faces problems such as airport closures due to heavy fog and insufficient flight seats. This year, it has integrated with Nanhai Shipping and ezTravel International Travel Agency to operate a total of 5 round-trip flights of the 'Nanhai Star No. 2' in June.

The Transportation and Tourism Bureau stated that the 'Nanhai Star No. 2' June flights will primarily operate on Mondays and Thursdays, departing from Nangan Fuao Port to Taipei Port in the morning, and returning from Taipei Port to Fuao Port in the afternoon. As a one-way trip only takes 3 hours and can carry 298 people, it is not only less affected by fog, increasing transportation capacity during the peak tourist season, but also makes it more convenient for travelers to arrange a 4 to 5-day trip to visit all 4 townships and 5 islands of the county.

The Transportation and Tourism Bureau said that the ticket price for the 'Nanhai Star No. 2' will remain at NT$1,700 per one-way full fare, with half-fare and county resident tickets also available. Tickets are expected to be available for purchase on the 'Matsu Sea Transportation Booking and Ticketing System' starting tomorrow. In addition, ezTravel has also launched free and group tours to increase the ship's occupancy rate and meet the needs of different customer groups.

The Transportation and Tourism Bureau replied to the Central News Agency reporter via message that the 'Nanhai Star No. 2' will operate regular flights after a three-year hiatus. Due to contractual factors, only June flights are currently planned. If the operation goes smoothly, regular flights are expected to operate from April to June next year, providing travelers with another option for round trips to Matsu.
