Central News Agency (CNA) correspondent Wu Chia-hao, Taipei, May 8th - Messaging app LINE launched its calendar function in March, allowing users to easily create events from chats and set automatic reminders. However, some users complained that date texts in chatrooms frequently appeared as hyperlinks. LINE announced today that after updating to LINE 26.6 or the latest version, users can manually enable or disable the display of LINE Calendar hyperlinks in chatrooms at any time.
To turn off the calendar hyperlink function, the setting path is: from the LINE home screen, tap the top-right 'Settings' icon, enter the 'Chats' menu, and then turn off 'Create calendar events from message content'.
LINE had previously announced that a standalone LINE Calendar application is expected to be launched in July this year, offering advanced features and synchronization with the in-app calendar function, allowing users to switch between them according to different scenarios.
