(Central News Agency reporter Chen Chih-chung, Taipei, 8th) The National Junior High School Education Exam is scheduled to take place on the 16th and 17th of this month. The Republic of China Cram School Education Association is providing free pre-exam key review videos on its YouTube channel. Among them, Chinese composition, under the impact of AI, has in recent years placed more emphasis on integrating information and expressing one's stance.
The Republic of China Cram School Education Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) issued a press release today, stating that as the exam enters its critical sprint period, students and parents face anxiety and pressure. The Association has gathered a team of renowned teachers from five major fields across Taiwan to analyze exam trends through free videos.
Yi Xiu, a teacher from the Yixue Chinese team, pointed out in the video that with the advent of the AI era and the explosion of information, the exam's composition section focuses more on how to integrate information and express subjective views on social issues. He suggests that students pay more attention to current events, discuss different perspectives with classmates, and reflect on their own thoughts.
Yi Xiu gave an example: the exam might ask students to write a letter to the principal, expressing their views on the education system. This requires students to choose a stance based on observation and express their opinions, which is a capability that the current curriculum and exam hope students possess.
Huang Yi, a teacher from the Huang Yi Gifted Math team, reminded students of four essential units: standard factorization and fractional arithmetic, square roots and Pythagorean theorem, similar figures and proportional segments, and probability and statistics.
Regarding probability and statistics, Huang Yi noted that the scope of questions includes statistical charts and graphs from junior high first and second grades, as well as statistical calculations and analysis from junior high third grade, testing students' life literacy.
