Central News Agency (CNA) Taipei, May 8th — According to China's official Xinhua News Agency, the Brazilian government announced that starting from May 11th, it will implement a visa-free entry policy for Chinese citizens holding ordinary passports, with a maximum stay of 30 days per visit.

The report cited a communiqué from the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 7th, stating that "From May 11th to December 31st, 2026, Chinese citizens holding valid ordinary passports for tourism, business, transit, and cultural or sports activities can enter Brazil visa-free, with a stay not exceeding 30 days and no possibility of extension."

It is stated that this is a reciprocal measure by the Brazilian government in response to the unilateral visa-free policy previously implemented by the Chinese government for Brazilian citizens.

China began a trial 30-day visa-free entry policy for Brazilian ordinary passport holders on June 1st last year. This policy has been extended until December 31st this year.

Data from the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism shows that Brazil received approximately 9.287 million international tourists last year, of which 94,400 were Chinese tourists from January to November, an annual increase of 34%. (Edited by Chou Hui-ying / Chen Kai-yu) 1150508
