Taiwan Mobile explained that the project, guided by the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and advised by the Institute for Information Industry, integrates 5G private networks, 3D real-time modeling, and high-precision indoor positioning technology, allowing commanders to quickly grasp personnel status and spatial information in fire scenes.
Taiwan Mobile pointed out that compared to the past, which relied on manual reporting and individual confirmation, taking tens of minutes, the system can complete situation assessment and rescue deployment within about 2 minutes. In environments with dense smoke and extremely low visibility, it can instantly provide clear directions and location information, reducing the risk of search blind spots and redundant rescues, and on average improving disaster relief efficiency by approximately 50%.
Zhu Xiao-xing stated that approximately 18,000 firefighters across Taiwan often face high-risk challenges in fire scenes such as flashovers, hypoxia, communication interruptions, and disorientation due to smoke. To enhance rescue safety and command capabilities, Taiwan Mobile leveraged its telecommunications strength to build a rescue system and collaborated with the Kaohsiung City Fire Department to apply it in actual fire operations, making technology a force to protect lives and providing an extra layer of safety for every firefighting hero on their way back from the front lines.
Zhu Xiao-xing further explained that since last year, the system has been tested in various locations in Kaohsiung, including large department stores, hospitals, technology factories, and residential buildings, overcoming challenges such as complex building structures and environmental interference, verifying the system's applicability in actual disaster relief scenarios.
