Central News Agency (Reporter Kuo Hsuan-wen, Hsinchu County, 7th) The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Hsinchu County Party Headquarters announced that registration for county councilor nominations will be accepted until May 8. Zhubei City is divided into two electoral districts for the first time. District 1 will nominate one person, and District 2 will nominate four people. The party headquarters stated today that if coordination cannot be reached, a primary election investigation will be conducted.

The DPP Hsinchu County Party Headquarters resolved that registration for Hsinchu County councilors will close on May 8. If the number of registrants exceeds the nomination quota in an electoral district, coordination will be carried out, and if coordination fails, a primary election investigation will be conducted. Currently, the Zhubei City electoral district, originally a single district, has been divided into two electoral districts, leading to fierce competition among potential nominees.

Party insiders told the Central News Agency that incumbent councilor Chang Chia-yuan is vying for nomination in Zhubei City's District 1. In District 2, in addition to incumbent councilors Tsai Ya-hsun and Ouyang Ting seeking re-election, Zhubei City representatives Chen Yu-tung and Fan Ke-ling have publicly declared their candidacies, while Zhubei City representatives Shao Chi-yueh and Zhubei City Office Secretary Su Ai-ting completed their registration today.

Su Ai-ting told the Central News Agency that through her participation in municipal activities, community outreach, and resident services, she has come to realize that daily issues such as roads, cleanliness, streetlights, and park facilities cause inconvenience to citizens' lives. She completed her party primary registration today, and if nominated and elected, she will strive to bring county government resources into Zhubei to improve citizens' safety and public service quality.

Shao Chi-yueh stated in writing that she hopes to expand services to voters and bring Zhubei's experience in arts and culture, transportation, and urban aesthetics into county governance, injecting new momentum into Hsinchu County.

According to the Central Election Commission's data on the changes to Hsinchu County Councilor electoral districts, Zhubei City, originally one electoral district, has been divided into two electoral districts. District 1 has 4 seats to be elected, with 1 seat reserved for women; District 2 has 9 seats to be elected, with 2 seats reserved for women. The exact number of announced seats will be based on the population count at the end of May. (Editor: Chang Ming-kun) 1150507
