Wang Peiyu Wins KMT New Taipei City Councilor Primary in Third Electoral District

Central News Agency (Reporter Huang Xusheng, New Taipei 7th) - The Kuomintang New Taipei City Chapter announced today that in the primary election for the Third Electoral District (Xinzhuang) city councilor, Wang Peiyu and Xiao Suling competed for one nomination slot. The results of the public opinion poll were unsealed today, and Wang Peiyu emerged victorious, with the results to be submitted to the nomination review committee for decision.

The KMT New Taipei City Chapter issued a press release this morning stating that in the 115 fiscal year New Taipei City Councilor Third Electoral District (Xinzhuang) primary election poll results, the district has three nomination slots, including one reserved for women. In addition to incumbent councilors who registered, there is one nomination slot available, and two candidates, Wang Peiyu and Xiao Suling, registered to run.

The press release stated that a three-day public opinion poll primary was conducted from May 4th to 6th. The results of the poll were publicly unsealed at the New Taipei City Chapter this morning. Statistics showed that the poll rankings were Wang Peiyu followed by Xiao Suling. The results will be submitted to the nomination review committee for decision.

Wang Peiyu, the incumbent head of Taifeng Village in Xinzhuang District, also posted on Facebook today, stating that she successfully passed the first primary election, thanking her fellow villagers for their support, canvassing, and encouragement, and extending her highest respect to her formidable opponent, senior Xiao Suling. Now that she has obtained the ticket to represent the KMT in the election, she will face difficult challenges.
