The Taoyuan District Court Citizen Judge Panel concluded the trial and sentenced Mr. Xu to 9 years and 2 months in prison for causing death by injury, which can be appealed.
The Taoyuan District Court judgment stated that around 8 PM on July 13, 2024, Mr. Xu argued with the drunk Mr. Jin in Zhongxiao Park, Taoyuan District. In anger, he punched Mr. Jin in the head, causing Mr. Jin to fall to the ground and suffer head injuries. Mr. Jin died on August 16 due to a skull fracture and intracranial hemorrhage.
