The Taichung City Fire Department received a report at 4:35 PM today that a residential fire had broken out on Zhongping 9th Street in Taiping District, and immediately dispatched fire engines and personnel to handle it.

Firefighters stated that the burning building was a 2-story concrete structure with a 3-story corrugated iron addition, emitting black smoke from its exterior. Due to the spread, a total of 5 houses were affected. The fire was brought under control at 5:17 PM. Currently, there are no reported injuries or trapped individuals, and firefighters are continuing to deal with the fire. The cause of the fire is awaiting investigation.
