(Central News Agency reporter Cheng Ching-fu, Warsaw 7th special report) Polish President Karol Nawrocki and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda jointly inspected the "Brave Griffin 26-II" joint military exercise on the 6th. Nawrocki emphasized in a press conference that both Poland and Lithuania face hybrid warfare threats from Russia and Belarus, and the Polish-Lithuanian alliance holds a strategically core position on NATO's eastern flank.

According to the announcement from the Polish Presidential Palace, this "Brave Griffin 26-II" military exercise was held in Akmenynai, southern Lithuania, near the Polish border. The main force of the exercise was the Lithuanian mechanized infantry brigade, supported by technical assistance from the Polish 17th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, the United States, and Portugal.

During the inspection, Nawrocki stated directly that Poland and Lithuania are facing consistent and evident threats from Russia and Belarus, a threat particularly manifested in the hybrid warfare experienced by both countries monthly.

Nawrocki pointed out that Poland and Lithuania are establishing a unified defense system along their common border, hoping to integrate Poland's "Eastern Shield" (Tarczy Wschód) plan and Lithuania's "Baltic Defense Line" (Bałtycka Linia Obrony).

He stressed the importance of maintaining high levels of defense spending and urging allies to follow suit. He noted that both Poland and Lithuania's defense spending exceeds 5% of their GDP, placing them at the forefront of NATO and setting an example for regional security.

Nawrocki also mentioned that he and Nauseda will jointly attend the Bucharest Nine (B9) summit and officially propose an expansion plan. He firmly believes that B9 should further include Scandinavian countries to address the increasingly severe Eastern challenges.

He concluded that the common goal of Poland and Lithuania is to enhance the interoperability of their armed forces, promote defense modernization, and develop dual-use infrastructure. "All these efforts are to ensure the security of Poland, the security of Lithuania, the security of the Baltic states, and the security of all of Europe." (Editor: Tang Sheng-yang) 1150507
