Central News Agency, Tokyo, May 8, comprehensive foreign wire report: The Nikkei business daily reported today that SoftBank Group (SoftBank Corp) has begun discussions with Nvidia and Foxconn to evaluate a plan to build 'Japan-made' artificial intelligence servers, as part of its mid-term strategic layout.

Reuters reported that the Nikkei pointed out SoftBank hopes to first establish a production system by assembling externally procured components by 2030, and then gradually take over the entire server manufacturing process.

The report also stated that this business will focus on high-performance servers capable of running advanced graphics processing units (GPUs).

This plan will be incorporated into SoftBank's mid-term management strategy and, according to the Nikkei, could be announced as early as next Monday.

SoftBank Group, led by Masayoshi Son, has invested over US$30 billion in OpenAI, acquiring approximately 11% stake. SoftBank is currently pursuing an 'all-in' strategy, hoping to be the winner in the large language model development competition. (Compiler: Qu Xiang-ping) 1150508
