(Central News Agency reporter Zhao Jingyu, Taipei 7th) The musical "Boss, a Bowl of Plain Noodles!" is about to debut at the Air Force General Theater. The story centers on a noodle stand proprietress, interweaving radio broadcasts and highly popular classic Chinese songs, and will also feature the now-demolished Chunghwa Market, taking audiences back to Taipei in the 1980s.

Director and playwright Yan Yun-nong stated at today's press conference that many people still vividly remember the classic skit "Chun Jiao and Zhi Ming" from the 1980s CTV variety show "Happy 100 Points." At that time, Fei Chang played Zhi Ming, performing with different Chun Jiao actresses, among whom Fei Chang and Jiang Hui's natural and humorous bickering, show-style interactions, and interspersed singing created a unique and unforgettable performance charm with Taiwanese characteristics.

Yan Yun-nong said that he grew up accompanied by music played on the radio, and is very familiar with Chinese golden oldies from 1980 to 2000. He wrote the story "Boss, a Bowl of Plain Noodles!" which integrates rap, comedy, music, and a sense of common people's life, hoping that audiences can watch the play and listen to the songs, seeing the shared memories and human touch of Taiwanese people amidst the excitement and laughter.

The cast includes veteran actors such as Lang Tsu-yun, Huang Hao-yong, and Kuo Yao-jen, and this time also invites several special guests including Huang Hao-ping, Yeh Chuan-chen, Lai Ming-wei, Huang Jia-qian, Chen Meng-xian, and Hao-tzu. Among them, on Mother's Day, May 10, "Rock Palace Master" Lai Ming-wei is invited as a guest, transforming into a folk expert teacher in the play, and also inviting the deities from the temple to "attend the performance."

The Spring River Theatre Company's musical "Boss, a Bowl of Plain Noodles!" will run from May 8 to May 24 at the PLAYground Air Force General Theater. It will also be performed at the Pingtung Arts Hall from June 13 to 14, and at the Yunlin Performing Arts Hall on July 25. (Editor: Long Bo-an) 1150507
