(Central News Agency reporter Huang Hsu-sheng, New Taipei, 7th) New Taipei City Deputy Mayor Liu He-ran stated today that he has no intention or plans to run for Changhua County Magistrate. He will accompany New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yu-ih in his administration until the very last moment. However, he has feelings for his hometown Changhua, and if needed, he is willing to return home to assist in elections and share New Taipei's governance experience.

He said that many experiences in New Taipei are worth learning from. If there is a need to provide them to candidates willing to serve Changhua, allowing his hometown to grow more, he would certainly be happy to return home to assist, but he has no intention or plans to run.

Xiao Jing-tian, Chairman of the KMT Changhua County Party Headquarters, said on the 4th that Liu He-ran is one of the options for the current nomination assessment.

Liu He-ran attended the "2026 North Coast Legendary Mazu Cultural Festival" press conference this morning and was interviewed by the media. He stated that the party central committee has a system for nominations, first considering individual intentions. He has been in New Taipei for 39 years, from being a teacher until now. Especially with Hou Yu-ih's term having more than 200 days left, many constructions are still ongoing. "I will definitely accompany the mayor until December 24th this year," hoping to stay in New Taipei to continue doing well and ensure a smooth handover.

He said he was born in Changhua and has deep feelings for it. He thanked Changhua County Magistrate Wang Hui-mei for doing an excellent job in developing Changhua over the past 8 years, with a great reputation. Many outstanding local talents have expressed their desire to continue serving Changhua. Under the party mechanism, as long as a local person is nominated to serve Changhua, he will fully support them.

Those seeking nomination include KMT Legislator Hsieh Yi-feng, Changhua County Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee Secretary-General Hung Jung-chang, Changhua County Government Counselor Ko Cheng-fang, and lawyer Wei Ping-cheng.

Liu He-ran stated that he respects the party central committee's mechanism and decision. He has been away from Changhua for some time and is not very familiar with the internal situation and actual operations. All Changhua natives who are willing to serve are dedicated to this land, and he gives them his blessings. As long as someone emerges through the party mechanism, he will fully support them.
