(Central News Agency, Taipei, 7th) Preparations for U.S. President Trump's visit to China are entering a substantive stage. Hong Kong's Ming Pao reported today that following the recent arrival of U.S. military large transport aircraft C-17 in Beijing, a Chevrolet Suburban with a U.S. federal government license plate was also photographed appearing on Beijing streets.
According to the report, an account named HANK posted on social media X on the 6th, stating that someone witnessed U.S. Secret Service vehicles patrolling near the Beijing Airport Expressway and the Third Ring Road. The accompanying photo showed a black SUV with a 'U.S. GOVERNMENT' license plate on its rear, with 'FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY' printed below the license plate.
The report cited analysis suggesting that this is a heavily armored Chevrolet Suburban, belonging to the U.S. Secret Service's presidential motorcade.
Analysis pointed out that based on the vertical taillight design, square rear door lines, and all-black paint, such vehicles typically serve as escort vehicles or logistical support vehicles for the U.S. presidential limousine 'The Beast,' responsible for motorcade security, communication, or personnel transport; equipped with bulletproof armor, night vision systems, self-sealing fuel tanks, and special communication equipment.
Trump is expected to visit China on the 14th and 15th. Recently, at least four U.S. military C-17 transport aircraft have successively arrived at Beijing Capital Airport. These types of transport aircraft are usually used to transport the presidential limousine 'The Beast,' communication security systems, and other advance materials.
Before Trump's first visit to China in November 2017, two C-17s also arrived in Beijing. (Edited by Chou Hui-ying / Chen Yen-chun) 1150507
