Central News Agency (Reporter Yu Xiaohui, Taipei, 6th) EVA Air announced today that it has once again been recognized as a SKYTRAX 5-Star Airline this year, not only marking its 11th consecutive year to receive this honor but also making it the domestic airline with the most SKYTRAX 5-Star Airline awards. SKYTRAX is a globally authoritative survey organization in the aviation industry. Its airline star rating system, launched in 1999, is an evaluation system that categorizes airline service quality. The assessment standards cover approximately 500-800 evaluation analyses, including cabin environment, in-flight catering, cabin service, ground service, and crew quality. Currently, only about 10 airlines worldwide have received the highest 5-star honor. The 2026 global airline star ratings were recently released. EVA Air issued a press release today stating that it has received the 5-star airline rating for 11 consecutive years. This time, it received high recognition in flight safety, cabin service team, cabin cleanliness, business class amenities, and beverage quality. EVA Air stated that it also scored highly in airport check-in and transfer efficiency, baggage handling, and lounge functionality, demonstrating excellent performance across all aspects and overall high-standard service. EVA Air General Manager Sun Jiaming stated that EVA Air has been honored as a SKYTRAX 5-Star Airline for 11 consecutive years since 2016. This achievement is hard-won, and he thanked global travelers and professional judges for their recognition. In the future, EVA Air will continue to refine its services, uphold the core philosophy of ''safety, service, and sustainability,'' enhance safety performance, and combine innovation with sustainable development to provide the safest and highest standard of service to global travelers. This year, EVA Air was honored as the 8th safest airline in the world by the internationally renowned aviation professional rating website AirlineRatings.com for the 13th consecutive year. Starting June 26, EVA Air will launch a direct flight route from Taoyuan to Washington D.C., the capital of the United States, offering four flights per week. Additionally, to meet the growing travel and business demands of southern Taiwan passengers, starting May 20, flights from Kaohsiung to Tokyo, Macau, and Shanghai Pudong will be upgraded to the Airbus A330-300 wide-body aircraft.
