Central News Agency (Reporter Yeh Su-ping, Taipei, 7th) - The Department of Gender Equality of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) will hold the "2026 Black Cat (oo-niau) Squad: Young Women's Political Influence Empowerment Camp 3.0" in July. The camp will recruit 60 women aged 20 to 35 and plans courses such as "Simulated Election Campaigns," "International Exchange," and "Women's Road Study Tours" to empower young women to become a key force in promoting democratic and gender equality values.

The Department of Gender Equality Affairs of the DPP held a press conference to announce the "2026 Black Cat (oo-niau) Squad: Young Women's Political Influence Empowerment Camp 3.0." Li Yen-jung, Director of the Department of Gender Equality, You Pen-ming, Deputy Director, Legislators Fan Yun and Chang Ya-lin, and camp counselor Millie jointly attended to announce that the 3rd summer camp will take place from July 3rd to 5th in Taipei.

Li Yen-jung pointed out that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the passing of Peng Wan-ru, the former director of the DPP's Women's Department. The camp specifically pays tribute to the courageous spirit of the "Black Cat Campaign Team" of that year and introduced a new "Black Cat" design wearing roller skates, symbolizing the agile actions and open-mindedness of new-generation women.

Li Yen-jung emphasized that the camp will continue to provide a warm and supportive environment exclusively for women. In addition to inviting female local township and city mayors who have cultivated grassroots experience to share their insights, the camp also plans diverse courses such as "Simulated Election Campaigns," "International Exchange," and "Women's Road Study Tours." Through practical exercises and cross-national experience sharing, the camp aims to empower young women to become a key force in promoting democratic and gender equality values.

Fan Yun stated that empowering young women has been her mission since she founded the Women's Research Society during her university days. Politics and life are inseparable, and only with a gender perspective can true equality be achieved. Last year, she successfully promoted the amendment of the "Local Government Act," adjusting the women's quota to "the proportion of either gender shall not be less than one-third," ensuring women's political participation and making the system fairer.

Legislator Chang Ya-lin, who entered the parliament with a "political newcomer" background, said, "The world will not suddenly become friendly to women, but every step we take helps change the world for the next girl." She expects more women to join the political arena to break the policy blind spots that have long been dominated by a male perspective.

Li Yen-jung announced that the camp will recruit 60 young women aged between 20 and 35. Applications are open from today until May 27th. Women interested in public affairs and political participation are welcome to apply via the registration link ( https://reurl.cc/M29mkv ).
