Chunghwa Telecom stated that this was mainly due to the growth of its information and communication technology (ICT) business. Chunghwa Telecom today announced its self-assessed consolidated revenue for Q1 2026 was NT$59.99 billion, an increase of 7.5% compared to the same period last year; earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) were NT$23.3 billion, an increase of 3.4%; net profit attributable to owners of the parent company was NT$10.11 billion, an increase of 3.2%; and earnings per share were NT$1.3.
Chunghwa Telecom Chairman Kuo Chih-cheng stated that Chunghwa Telecom performed strongly in Q1 2026, with key financial indicators including operating revenue, operating net profit, net profit attributable to owners of the parent company, and earnings per share all exceeding the high end of the quarterly financial forecast and setting a new high for revenue in the same period since 2012.
Chunghwa Telecom President Lin Rong-tzu pointed out that Chunghwa Telecom's excellent operating performance was mainly due to the continued strong growth of its information and communication technology (ICT) business, with both recurring revenue and project contract amounts reaching new highs for the same period. The ICT business performed outstandingly, driven by high growth demand in key areas such as IDC, cloud, and AIoT, demonstrating Chunghwa Telecom's ability to seize new growth momentum brought by digital transformation and AI applications.
Lin Rong-tzu noted that mobile and broadband businesses continued to maintain stable growth, benefiting from increased 5G penetration and continuous growth in average revenue per user (ARPU). At the same time, the number of users for value-added services in consumer applications reached a million milestone, demonstrating the effectiveness of high-value-added services.
Lin Rong-tzu stated that Chunghwa Telecom is advancing its 6G transformation and developing AI application services, strategically deploying 5G standalone (Standalone) in phases, targeting specific vertical application areas and core business districts, to lay out 6G ahead of schedule.
