(Central News Agency reporter Li Yawen, Taipei 7th) A mainland Chinese doctoral student at National Chengchi University submitted a journal paper extensively discussing military deterrence against Taiwan and "unification by force." The Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) stated that this is military intimidation against Taiwan packaged in academic language; however, since the individual is still a student, a tolerant attitude will be adopted, and the matter will be handled after they complete their studies.

The Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) held its regular press conference this afternoon, presided over by Deputy Minister and Spokesperson Liang Wen-chieh.

Liang Wen-chieh stated that this mainland Chinese doctoral student at National Chengchi University used certain terms in their paper, such as referring to then-U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan as an "unauthorized visit," calling on mainland China to strengthen its strategic narrative towards Taiwan, and emphasizing that military exercises are more effective in deterring Taiwan.

He said that this is military intimidation against Taiwan packaged in academic language, which is unacceptable; however, the individual still holds student status, and Taiwan also welcomes mainland Chinese students to study in Taiwan, so a tolerant attitude will be adopted as much as possible.

Liang Wen-chieh emphasized that these remarks calling for military intimidation against Taiwan will be dealt with after the student completes their studies, "This is a special concession we offer to mainland Chinese students." (Editor: Yang Shen-ru) 1150507
