(Central News Agency reporter Cao Ya-yan New Taipei 8th electric) The New Taipei District Prosecutors Office investigated the alleged pinhole camera voyeurism case at Airiri Clinic, and on the 6th, detained President Chang Ju-shan, Assistant Manager Zhang, and vendor Xie. After questioning, they were petitioned for detention and prohibited from communication on suspicion of offenses such as obstructing sexual privacy. Last night, the New Taipei District Court held a detention hearing and ruled late at night to detain all three and prohibit communication.

On the 6th, New Taipei police and prosecutors searched 4 branches of Airiri Clinic, including Banqiao and Xinzhuang, and brought in Airiri Group President Chang Ju-shan and others. After further questioning, Chang Ju-shan, Assistant Manager Zhang, and vendor Xie were identified as being involved in obstructing sexual privacy, obstructing secrets, and violating the Child and Youth Sexual Exploitation Prevention Act, and were petitioned for detention and prohibited from communication.

The New Taipei District Court held a detention hearing on the evening of the 7th. The judge determined that in addition to Chang Ju-shan being at risk of flight, Chang Ju-shan, Assistant Manager Zhang, and vendor Xie all had suspicions of colluding with accomplices, witnesses, destroying, forging, or altering evidence, and thus detention was necessary. All three were ruled to be detained and prohibited from communication.

The case originated when a female netizen reported on the 1st that she went to Airiri Clinic's Banqiao branch for body sculpting and, while changing clothes in the treatment room, found an unknown device in the corner of the ceiling that she suspected contained a camera. Clinic staff claimed it was a smoke detector. After the woman reported it to the police, the Haishan Precinct searched the clinic on the 3rd, disassembled the device, and confirmed it contained a camera, but no main unit was found.

The police tracked down vendor Xie, who allegedly dismantled the device at the Banqiao branch on the evening of the 1st. They immediately reported the case to Chief Prosecutor Zhou Xin-pei of the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office for command and investigation. On the 3rd, vendor Xie was detained in Taichung, and it was discovered that Xie was suspected of being instructed to drive south and dismantle the main units of surveillance cameras in 10 branches in central and northern Taiwan, not ruling out the possibility of destroying evidence. The police and prosecutors also found multiple victims from the seized disguised surveillance camera main units and cameras, with at least 10 people having completed reporting the case.
