Tainan Elementary School Girl Sexually Assaulted by Mother''s Cohabitant for 5 Years; City Government Launches Investigation

Central News Agency (CNA) reporter Chang Jung-hsiang, Tainan, May 6th – Tainan City Councilor Lin Yen-chu of the Kuomintang today revealed that an elementary school girl was sexually assaulted for five years by her mother''s unemployed cohabitant. The girl only told her mother after the two recently broke up. The Tainan City Government stated that the case has been reported to the police and an investigation has been launched. Lin Yen-chu pointed out that the elementary school girl was sexually assaulted for five years by her mother''s cohabitant, who used the pretext of care and various inducements. On May 3rd, there was even an attempted sexual assault. It wasn''t until May 4th, after the girl learned of their breakup, that she told her mother. The mother confronted the perpetrator and reported it to the police, and the entire case was thus exposed. The Tainan City Social Affairs Bureau stated that after receiving the report at 9 AM on May 5th, they immediately contacted and visited the family, and notified the Tainan City Police Department''s Women and Children Protection Team and the Education Bureau. Currently, the entire case has initiated an investigation process in accordance with sexual assault handling procedures, and police agencies have been asked to simultaneously evaluate and apply for a protection order to immediately safeguard personal safety.
