(Central News Agency reporter Chang Chien-chung, Hsinchu, 6th) Wu Chin-chuan, Chairman of Richtek, a power management IC manufacturer, stated today that the company's performance in the second quarter is expected to be similar to that of the first quarter, with quarterly revenue approximately NT$2.1 billion to NT$2.25 billion. Given the tight capacity of wafer foundries, securing more supply is currently the operational priority; there are no price increase plans for now, but market conditions will be closely monitored.

Richtek held an institutional investor conference to announce its first-quarter operating results. Richtek's first-quarter revenue was NT$2.111 billion. With changes in product mix, the gross margin rebounded to 40%, net profit attributable to the parent company was NT$395 million, and earnings per share were NT$4.62.

Wu Chin-chuan said that observing the overall price increase of notebook computers, the limited decline in sales, and stronger-than-expected customer demand, the first-quarter operating performance exceeded expectations. Currently, customer pull-in momentum has not slowed down, and the second-quarter operating performance is expected to be similar to the first quarter.

Richtek estimates that its second-quarter revenue will be between NT$2.1 billion and NT$2.25 billion, gross margin between 37% and 40%, and operating profit margin between approximately 16% and 20%.

Wu Chin-chuan stated that demand for power management ICs continues to rise, and there is no new capacity for mature process 8-inch wafer foundries. Wafer foundry capacity is fully loaded. To meet customer demand, Richtek will strive to secure more supply.

Wu Chin-chuan said that wafer foundries and back-end packaging and testing plants raised their quotations in the first quarter of this year. Richtek currently has no price increase plans, but will closely monitor market conditions. (Editor: Yang Lan-hsuan) 1150506
