The driver's alcohol test result was zero, and the detailed cause and responsibility for the accident are currently under investigation.

Lin Wei-shao, captain of the Second Team of the Aviation Police Bureau's Security Police Brigade, stated in a media interview that a traffic accident occurred around 7:50 PM last night on the tower road between Taoyuan International Airport's Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The front of the car was completely destroyed. Upon receiving the report, the police rushed to the scene. A preliminary investigation found that a rental car was transporting passengers to Terminal 1 when it collided with a concrete anti-collision barrier for unknown reasons, injuring the driver and leaving one passenger dead and another injured in the back seat. The injured passenger, surnamed Chen (57 years old), sustained minor injuries.

Lin Wei-shao pointed out that the police conducted an alcohol test on the driver, and the reading was zero. The detailed cause and responsibility for the accident are currently under further investigation. The Aviation Police Bureau urges road users to drive slowly and carefully, and to always pay attention to road conditions ahead, especially when the weather is poor, to ensure driving safety.

CPR, AED, intubation, and cardiac stimulant injections were immediately administered on site. Another passenger, Mr. Chen (57 years old), sustained minor injuries. The two were sent to the hospital for treatment, while the mildly injured driver was handled by the Shanjiao sub-station's rescue personnel and was not sent to the hospital.
