Central News Agency (Reporter Tseng Jen-Kai, Taipei, 6th) — Nanya Technology announced on the 5th that its major shareholder, Nanya, applied to dispose of 5959 shares. Based on Nanya Technology's closing price of NT$997 on the 5th, the estimated transaction market value reaches NT$5.941 billion. Even after the complete disposal, Nanya will still hold 413,359 shares of Nanya Technology, maintaining a high shareholding ratio of 63.97%.

Prior to this, Nanya had also announced in early March that its board of directors had resolved to dispose of 30,986 shares of Nanya Technology Corporation and 19,385 shares of Nanya Technology from March 12th to December 31st.

Nanya's initial investment in Nanya Technology was not for trading purposes, so under accounting definitions, it was placed under retained earnings. Unrealized gains and losses are recognized quarterly based on the difference between holding cost and market value. This disposal will not generate disposal gains and will not affect the company's earnings per share (EPS); it will be recorded in retained earnings.

Nanya Chairman Wu Chia-Chao recently stated that Nanya's invested companies, Nanya Technology and Nanya Technology Corporation, engaged in ABF substrates and memory, are benefiting from this wave of AI, and their prospects are promising. Nanya's disposal actions are mainly due to feedback from many investors during this period, hoping that Nanya can adjust its investment holdings.

Secondly, Nanya considered its high shareholding ratio in Nanya Technology and Nanya Technology Corporation. Even after this announced disposal of Nanya Technology shares, Nanya's shareholding ratio in Nanya Technology will still be as high as 63.97%. Nanya hopes that through appropriate disposal actions, it can increase the number of outstanding shares of Nanya Technology and Nanya Technology Corporation; on the other hand, it can also enhance Nanya's own cash flow.
