Taipei, May 6 (CNA) — Amid continued increasing shipments of new artificial intelligence (AI) platforms, ODM Inventec today announced its consolidated revenue for April reached NT$84.787 billion, setting a new high for the same period in history and the second highest monthly revenue ever. This represents a 3.2% decrease from March, which was a historical monthly high, but a significant 36.5% year-on-year increase.
Inventec's consolidated revenue for the first four months of this year totaled NT$285.097 billion, an annual increase of 30.1%.
In April, Inventec's notebook computer shipments reached 1.5 million units, a decrease of 700,000 units compared to the previous month. The primary revenue driver came from server products. Inventec currently forecasts that server shipments in the second quarter will see a double-digit percentage increase quarter-on-quarter.
Due to the enormous demand for servers, Inventec's existing Taoyuan factory is no longer sufficient. The board of directors recently resolved to acquire real estate, production equipment, and plant engineering in Daxi District, Taoyuan City, with a total transaction amount of NT$3.275 billion, to expand its server production lines. Production is expected to commence by the end of this year. (Editor: Chang Chun-mao) 1150506
