(Central News Agency reporter Wu Chia-hao, Taipei, 6th) Driven by continuous high volume shipments of new artificial intelligence (AI) platforms, contract manufacturer Inventec today announced its consolidated revenue for April was NT$84.787 billion, setting a new record high for the same period in history and the second highest monthly record ever. This figure represents a 3.2% decrease from the historical high of March but a 36.5% year-on-year increase.
Inventec's consolidated revenue for the first four months of this year reached NT$285.097 billion, a year-on-year increase of 30.1%.
Inventec's notebook computer shipments in April were 1.5 million units, a decrease of 700,000 units from the previous month. The main revenue driver came from server products. Currently, Inventec estimates that server shipments will see a double-digit quarter-on-quarter increase in the second quarter.
Due to the huge demand for servers, Inventec's existing Taoyuan factory is no longer sufficient. The board of directors recently resolved to purchase real estate, production equipment, and factory engineering in Daxi District, Taoyuan City, with a total transaction amount of NT$3.275 billion, to expand its server production lines.
