The train reversed to Sanmin Station, causing delays in both northbound and southbound directions.

A fire broke out next to the railway tracks between Hualien's Yuli and Sanmin stations around noon, with thick smoke affecting visibility and driving safety, leading to overall delays for both southbound and northbound trains.

The exact cause of the fire is still under further investigation, with police and firefighters on site to extinguish the blaze. Taiwan Railways Administration stated that services resumed at 12:47 PM and reminded passengers to pay attention to the latest train status information before traveling and allow sufficient time to avoid disruption to their schedules.
