The Changhua County Government held the "Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Hemei Township Health Center and Long-term Care Welfare Building New Construction Project" this morning. Wang Hui-mei, Hemei Township Mayor Lin Geng-ren, and others attended, jointly shoveling the earth.
Wang Hui-mei said in her speech that the long-term care welfare building under construction will have one basement level and six above-ground levels, with a total building area of 1,267 ping (approximately 4,188 square meters). The first basement level will be a parking lot and machine room, the first and second floors above ground will house the health center and a fitness center for seniors, the third floor will have a public-private childcare center and social welfare center, the fourth floor a day care center and dementia care center, the fifth floor a parenting center, and the sixth floor a health promotion space for seniors, providing comprehensive care for all age groups from infants to the elderly.
Wang Hui-mei stated that in response to the rapidly aging population, the county government has actively established long-term care welfare bases, with 52 locations currently established and 41 projects completed. As for the intergenerational long-term care welfare buildings, those in Erlin, Fangyuan, Zhutang, Dacheng, Yuanlin, and Beidou have already been activated, while the second phases of the welfare buildings in Pitou and Lukang are preparing for activation.
