Central News Agency:
(Central News Agency reporter Chen Chieh-Ling, Taipei, 6th) The Genesis Social Welfare Foundation is currently constructing a new hospital in Chiayi, with required funding of NT$400 million. However, only 40% of the funds have been raised. Celebrity Hsu Nai-Lin appeared today, appealing to the public to support the Chiayi hospital construction through diverse donation methods, allowing easy philanthropy without limitations, to assist severely bedridden individuals.

The Genesis Social Welfare Foundation is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and is the only social welfare organization in Taiwan that cares for patients in persistent vegetative states and severely bedridden individuals. It has cumulatively helped approximately 20,000 families avoid the tragedy of caregiving. In response to increasing long-term care needs and to implement the vision of localized elderly care, the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation is undertaking the project to build a new hospital in Chiayi, which is expected to serve 90 beds upon completion. Hsu Nai-Lin attended the press conference today as a charity ambassador.

Hsu Nai-Lin is a native of Chiayi and had previously shown concern and provided assistance for the Chiayi hospital construction in 2022. Hearing that Chiayi was in need and the funding gap for the hospital was significant, he stepped forward again. He mentioned that when his mother was ill, he almost canceled all his recording work and stayed by her bedside every day, feeling very distressed. He also hoped not to become a burden to his children in the future, emphasizing the significant importance of institutions that can assist in caring for bedridden individuals.

Hsu Nai-Lin stated that love is not about the amount, hoping everyone can support the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation in building the new hospital in Chiayi through small donations. He specifically painted a "Building House" on site and signed it personally. By supporting the Chiayi hospital construction with "Building +1" at NT$600, one can receive a small house, and even have a chance to obtain a limited-edition signed house by Hsu Nai-Lin. Donors can put coins in it daily, save their love, and donate it back to Genesis.

There are 2,388 patients in persistent vegetative states and severely bedridden individuals with dementia in Chiayi County and City, and many families are still in urgent need of assistance. Wu Chao-Fen, Director of Public Relations and Social Resources Department at Genesis, stated that the new Chiayi hospital requires NT$400 million in funding. The new hospital has now reached the 7th floor, with the basic structure and underground main structure engineering completed. The main structure is expected to be completed by the end of this year, but only 40% of the funds have been raised. She appealed to businesses and the public for every drop of support.

Wu Chao-Fen pointed out that Genesis promotes diverse donation channels. For small, regular donations, one can set up "recurring donations" on the Genesis official website to become a stable force for the hospital construction project. For convenient philanthropy, one can use convenience store machines to donate. With mobile phones being ubiquitous in daily life, using mobile payments such as LINE Pay, JieKou Payment, or TWQR to scan QR Codes allows for quick donations. (Editor: Chang Ya-Ching) 1150506
