(Central News Agency reporter Ho Hsiu-ling, Taipei, 6th) E-commerce players are vying for the last mile, and logistics competition has entered a decisive phase for infrastructure. Fubonmomo announced that the Hukou Logistics Park, invested and constructed by Fubon Life, has broken ground. momo will co-invest in building a new generation smart logistics park, expected to be completed and operational in 2029, to strengthen delivery capabilities in Northern Taiwan. This will also be one of momo's few large logistics centers to incorporate cold chain facilities.

Meanwhile, Coupang announced in March this year the launch of its fourth smart logistics center in Taoyuan. Its Q1 financial report, released today, also stated that its proprietary logistics and delivery system in Taiwan can stably support next-day delivery, currently covering most of the shipping volume, with coverage continuously expanding. Recently, it also launched three major services in Taiwan: flexible delivery dates, flexible delivery locations, and flexible returns.

Industry insiders believe that Taiwan's e-commerce has entered a new battleground where efficiency is key, and delivery speed is one of the crucial factors for e-commerce players to gain market share.

momo stated in a press release today that the groundbreaking ceremony for the Hukou Logistics Park was held. Collaborating with Fubon Life to create a smart logistics park, it will feature a total development volume of 88,000 ping (approximately 290,400 square meters) across three buildings, encompassing automated warehousing, ambient, and cold chain facilities. This strategic placement in the core logistics corridor of Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli, once completed and operational, will become a vital pillar for momo to strengthen logistics in Northern Taiwan. It also represents the collaboration of resources within the Fubon Group to jointly enhance e-commerce fulfillment competitiveness.

momo told the Central News Agency that the Hukou Logistics Park has two major highlights. First, its geographical location: it is adjacent to the Hukou Interchange of National Highway No. 1, only 300 meters away, and about 40 kilometers from Taoyuan International Airport. It also connects the consumer circles of Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Miaoli, and Greater Taipei, and possesses the conditions for international logistics connections for cross-border goods.

Another highlight is the planning of cold chain facilities. The park will also introduce automated warehousing equipment, conveyor sorting lines, and a smart warehouse management system. After it becomes operational, it is expected to increase warehousing processing capacity by over 30%.

In addition to the planned Hukou Logistics Park in the northern region, momo opened its first Northern Taiwan logistics center near Taoyuan Qingpu as early as 2017. Industry observers believe that with the future activation of the Hukou Logistics Center, momo will have two large logistics centers in the north, forming a dual-engine delivery system. This is also a crucial strategic move to respond to Coupang's accelerated logistics expansion and rapid delivery services.

Ku Yuan-hung, General Manager of Fubonmomo, stated that e-commerce has entered the stage of infrastructure competition, and continuously investing in a smart and upgraded logistics system is the foundation for a platform to maintain long-term competitiveness. The Hukou Logistics Park is a long-term investment momo is making to prepare for the next stage of market competition. (Editor: Lin Hsing-meng) 1150506
