He was hospitalized for a head injury and, after being discharged today, was immediately taken into custody by prosecutors. Following questioning, he was deemed to have committed a serious offense of causing death by drug-driving and was ordered to be detained without restricted visitation by the Changhua District Court tonight.

In the early hours of the 4th, around 4 AM, the man surnamed Kao was driving a car at high speed on Zhonghua West Road in Changhua City. He first collided with a motorcycle traveling in the same direction, then lost control and crashed into an oncoming car. The husband of the driver in the car, also surnamed Weng, sustained abrasions all over his body and was conscious when taken to the hospital.

The man surnamed Kao had a blood alcohol content of 0 and was unconscious before arriving at the hospital due to a head injury. Hospital reports on his blood and urine samples showed positive reactions for amphetamines. The case has been transferred to the Changhua District Prosecutors Office for investigation on suspicion of violating the Criminal Code's public endangerment offense of causing serious injury or death by drug-driving.

Changhua prosecutors stated that after Mr. Kao was discharged from the hospital today, he was immediately taken into custody. After questioning by the prosecutor, it was determined that he was highly suspected of committing the crime of causing death by drug-driving, and there was a risk of collusion or flight. Therefore, a request for detention with restricted visitation was filed with the Changhua District Court. The court approved the detention without restricted visitation tonight.
