(Central News Agency reporter Cheng Wei-chen, Changhua, 6th) Four individuals, including a man surnamed Gao, used a Jinzhi (spirit money) shop in Yuanlin City, Changhua County, as a cover, turning it into a drug packaging plant late at night. They produced 5,501 bags of drug coffee. The Changhua District Court sentenced them to prison terms, with the heaviest being 6 years and 6 months, for crimes such as manufacturing Class 3 drugs by mixing two or more types of drugs.

According to the Changhua District Court's judgment, the man surnamed Gao undertook the manufacturing of drug coffee bags for a price of NT$25,000. In September 114 Minguo (2025) late at night, Mr. Gao and three other men collaborated in the Jinzhi shop, dividing tasks to mix powders containing Class 3 drug ingredients with juice into empty bags, producing 5,501 bags of drug coffee.

The three men each received rewards of NT$2,000, NT$5,000, and NT$5,000. Mr. Gao also instructed two of them to take away and discard the drug coffee bag manufacturing tools and fruit powders.

Furthermore, Mr. Gao sold ketamine to a friend three times at the Jinzhi shop for NT$1,800 each time; he also gratuitously transferred ketamine to his younger brother and a friend for their use.

Upon receiving intelligence, the Yuanlin Precinct of the Changhua County Police Bureau, in conjunction with the Central Crime Fighting Command of the National Police Agency, Ministry of the Interior, and the Taichung City Police Bureau, formed a special task force. After collecting evidence, they reported to the Changhua District Prosecutors Office for command, raided the drug packaging plant in the Jinzhi shop, and arrested the four individuals.

The judge noted that the four defendants, all in their prime youth, disregarded the national ban on drugs. The drug coffee bags they manufactured contained a mixture of two or more drugs, making them more dangerous than single-type drugs. Furthermore, Mr. Gao also sold and transferred ketamine, causing drugs to flow into society, which had a severe impact on society, and the harm caused by their crimes was significant.

The District Court stated that Mr. Gao was found guilty of manufacturing Class 3 drugs by mixing two or more types of drugs, selling Class 3 drugs, and transferring counterfeit drugs, and should serve a prison term of 6 years and 6 months. The other three men, found guilty of manufacturing Class 3 drugs by mixing two or more types of drugs, were each sentenced to 4 years in prison. All criminal proceeds were confiscated. An appeal is possible. (Editor: Chang Ya-ching) 1150506
