(Central News Agency reporter Chen Jung-chen, Taipei 6th) The 'Asia on Site: Taiwan and the Asian Games Special Exhibition' opened grandly today at the National Museum of Taiwan History. Minister of Sports Li Yang stated in his speech that he hopes through the Asian Games Special Exhibition, everyone can once again feel the record of Taiwan being seen by the world.

The Ministry of Sports, Ministry of Culture, and the National Museum of Taiwan History jointly planned the 'Asia on Site: Taiwan and the Asian Games Special Exhibition.' The exhibition features nearly a hundred precious artifacts, including the 1958 Tokyo Asian Games men's football gold medal, the bronze statue of 'Asian Ironman' Yang Chuan-kwang, track and field legend Wu Ah-min's athletic shoes, and the original training schedule manuscript of 'Ironwoman Queen' Wu Chin-yun. Additionally, personal items from current famous athletes like 'Boxing Queen' Chen Nien-chin and 'Fastest Man' Yang Chun-han are also on display.

From May to June this year, the National Museum of Taiwan History will launch a series of major promotional activities. These include a dialogue on track and field anecdotes with national treasure Wu Ah-min and curator Hsieh Shih-yuan on May 10th, tennis legend Lu Yen-hsun sharing his 20-year career journey on May 23rd, a sports psychology coach discussing psychological resilience in June, and famous anchor Hsu Chan-yuan sharing exciting broadcasting moments. There will also be Asian characteristic Kurash performances and autograph sessions with Asian Games women's volleyball national players.

Minister of Sports Li Yang said in his speech today that as an athlete who participated in the Asian Games twice in the past, although he only won bronze medals, he is very much looking forward to this exhibition. Athletes experience training, setbacks, and standing up again, which is very similar to everyone facing life's challenges. He hopes everyone visits the Asian Games Special Exhibition to see the athletes' mental journeys through the exhibition.

With the Nagoya Asian Games approaching in September, Li Yang pointed out that it is not just a one-time international event, but an opportunity for Taiwan to prove itself to the world. He also hopes that through this Asian Games Special Exhibition, everyone can learn about the stories of predecessors like Yang Chuan-kwang who worked hard for Taiwan, once again feel the record of Taiwan being seen by the world, and invite everyone to cheer for the Asian Games athletes.

The Ministry of Sports mentioned that in the curation process, it played a key cross-domain communication platform role, especially in promoting sports cultural memory and reproduction. Beyond wanting to preserve the glory of winning medals, it is also to construct sports memories belonging to Taiwanese people, making sports the most vibrant cultural symbol in national identity.
