Archery Association Chairman Handover: Yao Lian-di Vows to Keep Taiwan Archery Shining

The Chinese Taipei Archery Association held a handover ceremony for its new and outgoing chairmen today. The 14th chairman, Yao Lian-di, emphasized in his speech that although he is relatively new to the sports community, he will devote effort and resources to ensure Taiwan''s archery continues to thrive. Yao, the President of Yeashin International Development Co., was elected on April 9 during the association''s general meeting. Outgoing chairman Lin Hong-dow expressed his confidence in Yao, noting that while Taiwan has a small archery population, its athletes consistently perform well internationally. Lin also challenged the new leadership to eventually surpass powerhouse South Korea in future competitions. Yao stated he was inspired to contribute to the sports world by the dedication of leaders like Lin Hong-dow and Tsai Chia-fu. He plans to rely on the expertise of Vice Chairman Qiu Bing-kun to strive for excellence in international events and the upcoming Nagoya Asian Games.
