(Central News Agency reporter Wang Bao-er, Taipei 5th) The 79th Cannes Film Festival is about to take place in France, and the film 'Nagi Notes' has been shortlisted for the main competition. The Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) announced today that director Koji Fukada met a Taiwanese producer at the 2023 TCCF PITCHING event, and this year's event is now open for submissions.

TAICCA Chairperson Wang Shih-sze stated today in a press release that the shortlisting of 'Nagi Notes' for the Cannes main competition further proves the top-tier matchmaking capabilities of the TCCF (Taiwan Creative Content Fest) Creative Content Summit, and such a result is no accident. TCCF PITCHING is no longer just a content display platform but a key indicator for the global industry to observe Asia's business momentum and original strength, serving as the best assisting platform for creators to enter the international market.

Director Koji Fukada of 'Nagi Notes' met Wu Hui-chun, a Taiwanese producer from 'Light in Motion,' at the 2023 TCCF PITCHING event, which facilitated the subsequent addition and production of multiple Taiwanese creative elements, such as the theme song being sung by Taiwanese singer Ann Hung (Cheng Yi-nung) with lyrics personally penned by the director.

PITCHING is a core unit of TCCF, and in 2025, it attracted nearly 700 project proposals from 44 countries worldwide. This year's event is now open for global submissions, and it is precisely differentiated according to its nature. The "Project Pitching Series" has fully upgraded its award structure starting this year, adjusting the previous model where feature films, TV series, animations, and documentaries competed for a single project award to now having dedicated grand prizes co-awarded by the conference and named sponsors for each category.

The "Story Series" is dedicated to showcasing published works with strong potential for film and television adaptation. In 2026, to meet the demands of domestic and international markets, the "Published Texts" and "Comics" special sessions will select a maximum of 26 original Taiwanese published IP works to participate in TCCF, among which 16 works will have the opportunity for public pitching.

Wang Shih-sze stated that the 2026 TCCF conference will adopt more strategic actions, committed to promoting the practical and strategic implementation of the industry, assisting Taiwanese creators in establishing themselves on the global stage in an international situation that removes the limitations of a single market. Through bilateral exchanges of forums and training, a resilient business system will be built to help Taiwanese teams find precise positioning in a changing market environment, building a solid bridge for Asian stories to reach the world.

The submission period for the 2026 TCCF PITCHING unit is from now until 12:00 PM on July 6th. The TCCF conference will take place from November 6th to 9th at the Nangang Exhibition Center. (Editor: Chang Ming-kun) 1150505
