(Central News Agency reporter Tseng Jen-kai, Taipei, 5th) The active ETF market is booming, with four new active ETFs joining the fray within a single day. Nomura Taiwan High Dividend (00999A) listed today with a massive trading volume of 300,000 shares. Fubon Asset Management and Allianz Global Investors announced today the launch of their first active Taiwan stock ETFs, and CTBC Taiwan Income Growth Active ETF (00406A) has also been approved for offering.

Fubon Asset Management announced today the launch of Fubon Taiwan Dragon Glory Active ETF (00405A), its first active Taiwan stock ETF, with subscriptions expected to begin on May 18 and listing tentatively scheduled for early June. Allianz Global Investors also issued a press conference notice today, stating it will launch its first active Taiwan stock ETF, Allianz Global Investors Dynamic 50 (00404A), also expected to open for subscriptions on May 18.

CTBC Investments also announced today that its CTBC Taiwan Income Growth Active ETF (00406A) has been approved for offering.

Fubon Asset Management Chairman Huang Chao-tang stated today that after the merger of Fubon Asset Management and Jih Sun Securities Investment Trust in April last year, the lineup has grown stronger. It now boasts as many as 17 Taiwan stock mutual funds. After an initial period of product market segmentation and consolidation following the merger, the company will officially enter the active Taiwan stock ETF market.

Huang Chao-tang said today that the Taiwan stock market continues to rise, seemingly without a ceiling. Many investors are now facing a situation of being 'squeezed' in three ways: squeezed by short positions, squeezed by being out of the market, and squeezed by high prices. With more and more 'thousand-dollar stocks' and even 'ten-thousand-dollar stocks' in the Taiwan stock market, for investors facing prohibitively high stock prices, investing through funds for integrated investment is one of the options.

Regarding the prevalence of active ETFs this year, Huang Chao-tang believes that active ETFs and passive ETFs are not an 'either/or' relationship; the two complement each other and neither should be neglected. Passive ETFs represent investment discipline, passively tracking indices and reducing human interference; while in a bull market, active ETFs offer greater operational flexibility and agility. The combination of the two allows for both downside risk management and the pursuit of excess returns on the upside. (Editor: Chang Liang-chih) 1150505
