(Central News Agency reporter Ho Hsiu-ling, Taipei, May 5th) Farglory Group is accelerating its expansion in retail and venue operations. Farglory stated that since the opening of the Taipei Dome, the annual number of event days, including baseball games and non-sports activities, has exceeded 300, with bookings extending until the end of 2027. As for the two Taroko commercial complexes in Taichung and Hsinchu that it took over last year, they will be adjusted towards a community-oriented positioning, with renaming and tenant optimization expected to be completed this year.

Farglory held a media exchange event today to discuss the status of the Taipei Dome since its opening in late 2023. Farglory indicated that from April to October, baseball games are the main focus, with other events being concerts and corporate days (non-sports activities). Non-sports events account for approximately 10% of all activities, with concerts being most concentrated in September and October. Corporate day events, such as Hon Hai's Sports Carnival last year, were also held at the Taipei Dome.

Farglory pointed out that the Taipei Dome's annual event days have exceeded 300, and events are currently scheduled until the end of 2027. The continuous holding of games and concerts has also driven foot traffic to surrounding commercial spaces, including Showtime Cinemas and the underground street, all benefiting from the event's effect on business performance.

In addition, Farglory noted that the Intercontinental Taipei, located within the Taipei Dome complex, is currently undergoing relevant review procedures and hopes to open in the second half of this year. It will further enhance operational momentum by combining venue activities with accommodation needs.

Farglory's retail business took over the operating assets, related rights, and obligations of Taroko's 'Taroko New Era Shopping Center' in Taichung and 'Taroko Nan Ya Plaza' in Hsinchu for NT$1 billion at the end of last year. Including the Farglory Square in Xizhi, it now operates three shopping malls.

Farglory stated that the purpose of taking over Taroko's shopping malls was not to establish a chain, but to consider reducing the cost of opening new shopping malls. It also recognized the existing operational foundation and location, and the future development potential of community-based shopping malls.

Farglory pointed out that the two acquired shopping malls will evaluate replicating the successful experience of the Xizhi shopping mall and flexibly adjust their operations based on market conditions. They will be temporarily renamed 'Farglory Square' for now, with room for further renaming later. The overall operational adjustments are expected to be completed this year.
