Xu Jing-ling, Chairperson of the Taichung City Association for Commending Good Deeds and Good People Movement, stated in her address that behind every representative of good deeds and good people, there is a touching story. Some have experienced hardship since childhood and vowed to give back to society later, while others lead their children to join charitable acts through personal example. She hopes that through the commendation event, a positive and active impact can be generated in society.
Among those commended was Lee Shih-jen, an associate professor and head of the Department of Life Creative Design at Chaoyang University of Technology. She completed her studies while working part-time and devoted herself to community building and reconstruction after the 921 earthquake. Since 2004, she has led faculty and students to continuously promote the "Sending Love to Taitung Tribes" initiative and established the "Tribe Time Bank" to promote sustainable tribal development.
Ho Yu-chi, Chairman of the Chinese Taipei Sports Lottery Union, also received recognition. He came from a humble background and actively dedicated himself to public welfare after achieving success in his career, repeatedly donating to grassroots sports activities and disadvantaged groups.
Ho Yu-chi stated in a media interview that in addition to his involvement in the sports industry, he has long contributed to charity, sports, and schools, hoping to foster a cycle of goodness, and never expected to receive this honor. He hopes that through small acts of kindness, it can inspire all sectors of society, the government, and enterprises to support sports in Taiwan. (Edited by Chang Ya-ching) 1150505
