Premier Cho Jung-tai stated today that as the government begins drafting next year''s general budget, assistance for small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) will be treated as equally important as social welfare programs. He emphasized that the government has the capacity and conditions to comprehensively increase subsidies for these businesses. During a visit to a precision parts company in Taichung, Cho instructed the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Labor to upgrade current SMME revitalization schemes into formal regulations. These upgraded measures will cover manpower training, R&D subsidies, market expansion, and financial tax incentives. Regarding labor shortages, Cho noted that the Ministry of Labor will enhance domestic training while moderately introducing high-quality foreign technical personnel to meet industry needs, ensuring a stable foundation for national industrial development through fair economic distribution.
